CR Sturgeon 12-12 (pics)
Before I get into my sturgeon report I wanted to tell you when I launched at Scappoose Bay Marina I was talking to the guy that runs the store and he showed us a picture of a 56lb chrome salmon that some guy caught at the mouth of the Lewis yesterday plunking from his boat for steelhead with a spin-n-glow and eggs. The picture is there if you want to see it when you launch tomorrow.
Any how…. My good buddy Cracker Joe and I had a great day on the water. I actually had other plans today but when the phone rang at 7:30 AM I had a feeling it was Cracker calling me to go fishing. By the time we got out to the St. Helens area the tide was flowing great and the water had that gooooood sturgeon color to it.
Things started off fast as Cracker Joe had the first fish 3:35 after his first cast hit the water; my first took 9 seconds longer and the rest of the day was a blur of diamond sides and bait!
Combined we must have caught about 100 fish! We had countless doubles and between us we landed 8 keepers, 4 each. Here are a couple pics…
Fished 47 feet of water and this was the favorite bait of the day…
Hardly a breath of wind all day and only 2 minutes of rain, what a great day to be on the water. We will be back out there tomorrow!

Great Pics...well done!
We're gonna hit the St. Helens area tomorrow...probably head out around noon....hopefully we'll get lucky and the bite will still be on....tomorrow is gonna be a wet one though.

Great pics.....
I too saw that picture of the 56 pounder at the marina when i went out 12/14.... And when i was heading up river, I expected to see some boats fishing the mouth of the lewis where he says [img]graemlins/applause.gif[/img] he caught it. Not one boat over there???????
Anyways looks like you had fun. I wish i could figure out how to upload pics onto this site.
