Default New to the boards...

I am new to ifish and i heard that my first post is supposed to be a story so here it goes... I recently picked up fishing and this has pretty much been my first year. One day me and my buddy john went out to the Yaquina river this last October to troll for fall Chinooks. After a couple of hours we were talking and all of a sudden i had hooked into my first salmon ever. It fought me hard and i was shaking like crazy. But i decided to keep my composure and act like i had caught a million of them since there was people around. It was one of the best experiences of this year.

Rip-a-Lip19, welcome. Fishing is the greatest hobby in the world. Also, it's perfectly okay to get excited, shout a "wooohooo", and pump your fist in the air. We all do. If someone looks down their nose at you because you do, they're probably jealous 'cuz they can't catch fish.

I always get the shakes on usualy the first salmon or steelhead I get after a little drought. I also get a little shaky when I have a deer or elk in my sights. Welcome.
