Default San Diego charter

Heading down to SD next week and am looking for a 1/2 day fishing trip. Any recommendations on who to get a hold of? My son got a price of $1000 for a 1/2 day out of Newport Beach. Don't think I want to spend that much.

I have heard good things about Polaris supreme charters. (I sent you a PM with a link) My wife is from SD and we go down about once a year. I haven't been out on their boat yet, but I plan on it next time.

To be honest it is run by a friend of a friend. But I wouldnt pass you on to them if i didnt think they would be great. Let me know if you go and how your experience was.

I'm not sure if you know, but newport is a DRIVE from San Diego, a long one at that. If I were you, and you wanted to go out of newport. Rent a boat at Daveys Locker. Head out toward balboa from the bay, on the left side near the opening you will see a small lagoon. Take a live bait, cast it out and wait for some small halibut and big flounder. Might hit a good sea bass, and maybe even some good cudas. Give them a call, the'll hook you up.

Thanks John,
I got your PM, it looks they are mostly booking overnighters and long range trips in the summer. I will bookmark them for future reference though.

That is an option. My son lives in Newport Beach so we will spend some time up there. Guess I will take a couple of poles with me just in case. Thanks for the heads up.

Open party half-day out in San Diego will give you four options

1. Point loma sportfishing.....The Daily Double
2.H&M landing....... The Premier
3.Fishermens landing......The Dolphin
4. In Mission bay you Seaforth landing........The New Seaforth

You also have Seaforth boat rentals in Mission bay which can cater to your needs for fishing the bay or going out out to the kelp beds if you wanna go self-guided.
Oceanside sportfishing is about 35 minutes of S.D. and then another 1/2 hr. north you have Dana Wharf sportfishing in San Clemente.......hit me up for any ?'s.......... Good Luck/tight lines
