Put me down for a copy. Does he have a web site? I'd like to see some of his other prints.

I did a quick Google search on the net and found some info on this artist. A person could do the same thing if they were interested in making inquiries about this persons artwork.

Ok Wow  this went way different that I had thought. I just wanted to share the print ( what I have is a couple reprint of the original). Within minutes my phone was ringing and so many replies here asking about prints. I have put a call into Jennie and would like to talk to her and get her thoughts before this goes too far. I have no clue about art and copyrights and all of that stuff but I have found out that maybe I can't even put a picture on the internet. Because who know who will use it as their screen saver or print it out. I also don't want to somehow make this free advertising for anyone.

If anyone has any questions or wants more info contact me via email amerman@oregoncoast.com . I don't know what the link someone else wrote. I have talked to the artist and will pass on info once I clear it with Jennie.

Sounds like another ifish sponsor to a large audience of segmented buyers.

That perhaps did not come out as intended. Why don't we recruit the artist as an ifish sponsor. It would seem there is a lot of interest from potential buyers judging by the messages. Here you have exposure to several thousand potential buyers. Typical marketing hit rates are 1-3% for mass mailings - I wonder how the hit rate would be for a pre Holiday awareness? They are beautiful prints.

Sigh... What a beautiful painting! I want one, too!

This is always a struggle for me on how to handle....

There is a consistency problem here. "No linking to non sponsors." says the AUP.

Well, there is a link up there. Should I remove it? Technically, yes, and I guess I will for now.

Personally, I really don't care if we give away contact information, but if I allow it, then I have a consistency problem, and other people email me, and say, "Well, he did it and you let him!" and pretty soon the whole board is full of nothing but advertising. Then, the sponsors on ifish wonder why the heck they are paying for it!!!

It's a tough nut to crack.

Tell you what, for now, e mail Scott for more information. I really personally wish I could just say, "Wow! This is awesome and here is how to get one!" I wish, I wish... I mean, it's just a painting and it's gorgeous, and.. and...!

I was eating dinner and Scott was kind enough to call and ask what to do. I appreciate that kind of up front honest business attitude so much! Some folks just try to slip it by real sneaky like. I don't like that.

I just wish there was an easy answer. In all of my years of doing this, I've yet to find it!

I'll call Scott back and see if it's OK to just contact him, and then we'll see where to go from here. I really want nothing from this artist, and I'm not really accepting new sponsors at this time.

Argh... Just thinking out loud.

Contraversy Aside,

Vry cool pic Scott.

I like how there is a bunch of his buddies behind him.

So many times you wonder, how many more are down there??? What would make their bunny jump. Was there one, or 15.....

Very cool painting.

Ok, thanks everyone. I have talked to the artist. There are prints available. This picture was taken off of my print. It was not the original. I will find out more tomorrow when I talk to him again. Like how many he has, how many were made or will be made and what the cost is. For now if you are interested in getting a print of this, let me know, and I will give you all the info ASAP, or if you just want contact info for this guy, you can email me for that too. I am not sure what the link given was. I do not believe he is on the internet. It may be a gallery or something that he is in.

Default Painting from one of my clients

I just had to share. One of clients is Carl Lauerson an artist from Portland who does wildlife art. He has fished with my dad and me for many years and sent us some great paintings. He just sent me and dad these prints of a chinook with Bobber and eggs for Christmas. Wonder where he got the inspiration. Hope the picture does it justice. One day years ago he was out with me and a long time friend of his( and client of ours) fishing kings. As a hot day of fishing went on the razzing got heavy and while Carl was playing a fish me and his friends were giving it to him heavy and he turns to us and says " I'd like to see you Pr**ks paint".

That's spectacular! The detail looks excellent. Where did he get the inspiration for the color on those eggs?

Ya better start taking orders..... If it's available as a reprint, it's going to be popular.

What a great painting!
I think the idea of offering the artist a sponsor spot on ifish is very interesting and after this response the artist will see it would be money well spent for them. Also it would solve the advertising problem Jen faces. I am sure there are many more prints of equal quality this artist has for sale and by the looks of this print and the interest in it a sponsorship spot would be good for all concerned.

Ok. Here's what I know. There was a very limited printing of 10 made of the painting. They are numbered prints, and there are a couple still available. If anyone is still interested in getting a print or finding out more about it, email me at amerman@oregoncoast.com.

Thanks,
Scott

Man that's a cool painting. You ever wonder what it's really like underwater with your offering either being taken or rejected and just how close you may or may not come?
