Default Whatcha gonna run for your springer setup?

What's everybody running for the upcoming springers? I'm running a Berkley IM8 8'6 12-25lb caster, and an Abu 5500 C3 with 20# ultragreen. Gonna give bouncing eggs a whirl!

gonna use???

My rods vary depending on how many rods we get to fish that day out of the boat. I have 3 GLoomis's 8'2" 1 piece, 8'6", and 10'6"; 3 Lamiglas a couple 8'6", a 9'; a North River 8' 1piece; and an old Western that was my dads and like to fish and have memories of him and I fishing. All except for 1 reel is Ambass 5100-01 and 6500-01, and one really nice Penn I picked up on I-Fish for an awesome deal. I have an assortment of left and right hand reels so that all fishing are comfortable with the reel and rod. I prefer to use my gear on my boat so try to accommodate family, friends and others as much as possible.

I use 65# Tuffline on all reels and 40# Ultragreen as leader material.

Wright McGill Alaska Heavy Drifter 9' with Tekota 500lc spooled with 65lb Power Pro. Use that for everything except back bouncing. Got a St Croix matched with Curado 300e spooled with 65lb Power Pro for that.

Lamiglass Kenai Kwik with a Tekota 500LC loaded with 65# braid for back bouncing Kwiks. Perfect for the back bounce experience. This rod was made exactly for this reason. Awesome setup!

Lamiglass Classic glass 9'10" 12-25 M with a Tekota 500LC loaded with 30# Berkley big game for the troll. OH yeah babe... This rod loads deep in the medium bend and has a great backbone. It's hard to beat that setup on a troll. It is very positive as it gives gives gives... then BAM! You're HOOKED UP. Gets me all excited just thinking about it.

I run 12" of 65# Dacron in front of my flashers but all my leader material is P-Line CXX 30lb. (I tried that wire spreader; flasher/dropper setup they had as the rig of the month last year in the NWS magazine. Won't do/use that again.)

My favorite backup rod is a 9'8" Shimano Clarus but I want to try my new North River rod at some point in time. It has a nice medium bend but it has a very fast sensitive tip. I'll most likely set it up with my Tekota 600 and use it for flat-lining Maglips. A new experience awaits there!

There's a decent I'll get a springer with a 7'-6", 4-8lb lamiglas JJ kokanee rod with a tica caiman GJ 100 reel spooled with 10lb magnathin while fishing a tiny chartreuse curly tail grub on an 8lb leader... Managed to put springers in the boat the last two years with the kokanee gear while shad fishing. The light gear sure makes for a lot more exciting fight.

The same rods I've been fishing with for 20+ years. 8'6" Lamiglas Esprit 10-20 w/a Amb. 6500/65# TUF, a Fenwick FS-80, 6500C 25# Big Game mono and a SWEET LCI 10-20/Quantum Iron w/80# Power Pro. Flatfish/herring and spinner rig, in that order, unless I get a wild hair and change up!!!

My wife gets the "good stuff"

Oh yeah, I remember fishing for shad once upon a time down by the falls in Oregon City. My pop fertilized the flower bed with them. What do you do with your shad?

Loomis SAMR1174 with Tekota 500LC for the herring rods.
On the diver bait / plug rods I'm running Loomis SAPR982 out the back (stern rods) with Loomis SAMR1265 out the front (bow rods) with Tekota 300LC reels. This gives me a wicked spread FWIW.
On the bouncers I'm running Loomis SABBR963 and SAPR983 with Curado 301e7 and Calcutta 300TE reels.
Everything is spooled with Power Pro Super Slick 50lb this year for a new player in the game.

Looking forward to feel line peeling of the reel.
