Default C & E Is My Hero

Friday night I took my son smelt dipping. I ended up dipping right next to the famous Catch and Eat. Well, I had about ten smelt in my bucket and made a real deep scoop that got hung up on a large rock. Next thing I know the end of my net is detached from the handle and floating downstream and heading right for C & E's dipping spot. My first thought was, "Great, I drove all this way to get my son into some smelt and now were out of luck". Luckily C & E and the guy next to him were able to recover my net with a couple scoops of their nets. After getting it back I then put it back together and proceded to smash the connection with a large rock ensuring that it would not happen again. Thanks again Bernie. My son and I really appreciate you doing that for us and you will be happy to know that on the way home I stopped at Fishermans and bought a new net.

By the way, we ended up with 1 and 1/2 5 gallon buckets full for an hour and 1/2 of dipping that night and went back the next night and got another bucket full for 1/2 hour of dipping.

Hay Tanner! Sounds like you guys were really in them on friday! But it also sounds like you might of had a few to many? That is unless you forgot to say your son brought a few of his friends! Good luck! Have fun! And don't get caught with too many in the bucket! That's alot of money for some bait in the long run!.....Shakerfish!....

Hey Rich, "Go kiss a Moose Buddy" BTW fish a half day at the fishery. 3 keepers in our boat. How about you Richard?

Tanner, you are welcome. Glad you and the cub got into the smelt. We went back down Saturday at 6:50 and dipped for 20 minutes. two limits for Mike and I. Went to my boys b-ball game and left for the fishery at noon. AS I told Waterboy, 3 keepers on fresh smelt. Tons of shakers.

Famous. Hardly. Just like to have fun.

WTG C+E, Nice to know folks are looking out for one another when we are out havng fun.

On Saturday, Puffin, Threemuch, and myself were dipping on the east side of the river, down towards the mouth. We got our limits, but had to work for them.

Peace, Tom

Shakerfish, just curious, how is 1 and 1/2 5 gallon buckets full too many for two people? Did I miss something in the regs?

shakerfish - One oregon limit equals 2 1/2 Washington limits. Those guys really like to eat that bait! (It is tasty!)

Tanner one and one half a bucket full should be about right. I weighed my bucket and it came in right at 25 lbs. You heard the man above me testify to that. It was 3/4 way full for just me. Thus 1 1/2 buckets for you and the cub would be just right.

Hey ****** looks like Richy was diss'in my name aye?
