Re: bulk sardines
Try calling around to some local SeaFood wharehouses. Also I think that Japanese store in Beaverton can get them for you.

Re: bulk sardines
If you get a quote on a case price let us know. I hate paying $4 for a 3 pack every trip out.

Re: bulk sardines
A buddy just told me a Japanese company is putting a sardine processing plant in the Vancouver area. Should be a resorce. PS, The smaller ones work good as wraps or fished whole like Herring. Don't get stuck thinking you need those biggies.
I'll go in and do some vac-packing if you line some up.

Re: bulk sardines
I'll check where my buddy got his last batch. They were much smaller than the jumbos you get at FM and GI Joes. They seemed to work much better to!

Re: bulk sardines
Go to Uwajamaya's asian supermarket. Food grade, 3 bucks for 4 or 5 large ones. I think you have one in Beaverton.

Re: bulk sardines
I've got a couple of 5 gallon bucketsful vacumn sealed and in the bait freezer. When you are down here fishing buoy 10 or the ocean, just drop by any of the canneries and they'll sell you a bucket full for little or nothing. The sardine boats usually hit the docks from 3:00 until midnight.

Re: bulk sardines
Just picked up some at Bornstiens Seafood in Astoria. I bought 5 - 22lb boxes for $30.80. They are located behind Fisher Brothers. If you stop in to get some make sure you tell them they are for crab bait. Otherwise they will try to charge you $15 per box.
What you don't use for salmon save for crab bait. The commercial crabbers use them with good success.

Re: bulk sardines
My buddy hooked me up with 30lbs for 25$. His brother knows a guy at I believe was Ocean Beauty. You may want to call there and check it out.
