Default Fiberglass DB Repair?

Can anyone reccomend a good shop for repairs to my fiberglass drift boat? I loaned it to a friend last weekend, and he wrecked it on the Necanicum. Sounds like there are some serious cracks on one side, but I haven't seen it yet. Also, the plastic fish box floated away in the flip, so is there someone who can make one to fit the boat if I get measurements?

The boat was sort of old and beat up, so I can't justify spending a fortune, but I would like to get estimates to see if its worth fixing.

Also, please see my lost and found post if you are running the Necanicum soon. I would love to have some of the gear back, but I don't have a way to run the river to look for it. Thanks.

I saw your boat, but didn't see the cracks as it was still underneath that stump when I left. In fact I was amazed when I came back about 45 minutes later and it was gone, along with all the chainsaw wielding rescuers. I didn't think they would ever get that out.

Take it over to Clackacraft. I bet they can work on it.

Clackacraft will either be able to fix it or recommend a shop to do the work.

edit: sorry, i thought he was referring a previous incident of boat salvage.

Or you could check out Warrenton Boat yard, they do really good fiberglass work. The Salmi brothers are good people.

If you have some tools, space, time and the inclination, you can fix fiberglass yourself. That's one of the reasons that I focused my boat search on fiberglass instead of aluminum. Inspect the damage and decide for yourself if you think you can do it. It's not that hard but right now having a garage or other dry place to work in would be a must. You might also try talking to some autobody shops. They're usually pretty handy with fiberglass work.
