Sodium Sulfite?? Where can I get some
Trying to learn to cure my own eggs. Have a mess from Alaska this summer. Bought an egg curing book and a lot of the cures require Sodium Sulfite. Can't seem to locate it at the drug store, anyone know where a fellow can get some?

Fishermans Marine Supply is both easiest and most expensive. Under the Procure label.

Try your local camera shop. I got mine at Citizens Photo on SE 7th Ave in Portland.
They use it to develop pictures. I heard there is 2 grades though, Food grade and camera grade. Food grade is supposed to work better but I couldn't figure out where to get it. The camera grade seemed to work fine for me.

Look in the yellow pages under Chemicals or chemical suppliers. They will have the food grade. Got some good stuff.

Thanks all for the the input. UG called procure as I live in Salem, Peggy told me to come on down she would have a package ready. Would not have thought to call them, the board comes threw again!!!!Thanks again all for the info. :smile:

I buy mine at a wine making shop. Chech the local breweries. They can get 40lb bags.

I bought some off of ebay recently. I think I paid 12.00 for 10 lbs. plus shipping. check it out  just type in what you are looking for.
