Default What are some good cures to buy

I was wondering what would be the best egg cure to buy in the stores? I want one that will be simple but effective. Any help would be great

I get good results out of basic Procure. I know some don't think steelhead will bite sulfite eggs, but that hasn't been my experience.

Ameremans is as easy as any cure, and from what I hear works real well. Double Hot Procure works great too, from experiences. Also, how about a story, Ifish tradition to tell a story as a new member! Welcome to Ifish.

Amerman's comes quickly to mind.

Another good steelhead cure is the old 3-2-1. Mix 3 parts borax, 2 parts sugar, 1 part non-iodized salt together. Put a layer in the bottom of a plastic container. Roll bait sized eggs in the mixture then drop into the container. When you complete a layer, cover with the mixture and repeat until 1" from the top. Seal and freeze or keep in the fridge for a few weeks.

Add Jello (strawberry, raspberry, cherry) for color if you don't like 'em natural.

If you are planning to cure steelhead eggs I recommend just using borax and maybe a little coloring ( jello ,dye, or colored borax ). Dont be afraid to drip shrimp oil over the skein before cutting it bait size chunks. then stick em in borax. Honestly I dont think you will find a better steelhead egg.........good luck.
