I pounded the Siletz the other day and didn't get a sniff. It doesn't start producing good numbers of fish until mid to late January. I would head to 3 Rivers right now as the water drops. I'd say hit the NF Alsea, but it's been a zoo over there with all the recent internet reports. Bring your own rock and place to park if you go there.

Good Luck,

Tillerboy

SKP, NF Alsea only had about half a dozen anglers when I was there late mid-day till dark yesterday. Got a chance to view a couple guys in the honey hole - that's not fishin. It's not snaggin but close to it.

It's a combat zone for sure so if you don't like people I'd fish down lower. There's plenty of good bank access with nobody around. Exploring and finding new spots is a part of fishing I love. By the way.......it's not that hot up there right now. Give it a couple of more weeks and then you'll see some serious elbow to elbow.

This is why I'm asking about the Siletz, miles and miles of solitude, and more fish than Three Rivers. I'm just wondering if they are in yet.

As for Three Rivers, it's getting more and more crowded every year, and it will not be getting any better soon. Insane is correct. Look for Billy Bob and his cousins by the dozens at Three Rivers.

SKP,
Still early for the Siletz. In 3 weeks or so the fish will begin to show in fishable numbers...It really is more of a January start though. And as far as solitude, I agree but more so because people don't drop their anchors...
