I think Fisherman's just had Stearns inflatables on sale for $58. The inflatables are really comfortable and not bulky. The only problem is they make getting into your front vest pockets a little tougher.

My dad and I both use the stearns inflatable with teh CO2 cartridges. Saved my neck once (or was that twice - maybe more, I can't remember).

I got the Orvis Inflatable vest It sacrifices some of the pockets that the regular Tac-L-Pak has. But it still gets the job done. I bought if for float tubing though. The big problem is that it isn't CG certified.

Default Wading Life Vest?

I am usually very careful when i am wading a river. But recently i switched to breathable waders, the down side to these is that if they fill you go under were as neoprene does have some bouyancy. Does anybody know if they make a wading vest with a emergency inflatable area that might be activated with a Co2 cartrige or something similar to the airplane life jackets.

You can find inflatable lifejackets at most of big sportinggoods or marine stores (gijoes, west marine, etc..). Make sure you use a wading belt cinched tight, this will minimize how much water goes into the waders if you get dunked in the river. My breathables have a built belt and alos a cinch cord around the chest. I always make sure both cinched tight when wading in fast water.
