As Bruce (No Wishin Just Fishin) was mentioning in his post, here are the results of our mission today...

Many thanks to Bob (Skrimmy) for inviting me along for the ride...It had been a long time since I had been to those parts up there and I can't thank you guys enough for sharing with me...

Oh by the way...there are still some items left there just not any birdies in this size...

The Secret Place...

A sample of the Goods...Yes there are more in my inventory...

Get a load of these...I bought every one of these in this size...26 boxes to be exact...They will never be openend if I can help it...

KHH

You must have passed right by Fish Country, either on your way to this spot, or on the way back.....HWY 12...on your right going east, on your left going west. Unless you went by the trout hatchery to and from. It's a great little shop.

Stew...

Boxes of these are hard to find... Maybe a collectable some day...I don't know

Would have to ask Hobart Mans the next time I see him or maybe Buzz...

I have plenty of the Rainbows & other colors not in the box so if at all possible I won't have to open these, and possibly see what they would go for on Ebay or something...

Fish-N-Russ & Quasimodo,

If you 2 guys want some send me a PM...

I am not a greedy ole Hog Hunter and to prove it, I will sell you each an assortment of 50 at $.29 a piece just like I paid for them...

If you want them though, you have to come see me & meet me, that is the only caveat....At least you won't have to take that 1.5 hour drive...

Peace....

KHH,
thanks but no thanks
Im just getting on the jig bandwagon so most of my fish $ is going there.

BTW is there much difference (ie better or worse) in the action of these birdies as opposed to the glo-go type body?

Russ,

I have never used the Glo_Go's but I hear they are very similiar...

Don't get me wrong...Birdie drifters are great and everything but corkies do the job...It is just a mental thing I guess with the success I have had using them....

I am like you as well, jig fishing is very addicting...

Good luck to you and if you change your mind my offer stands....

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">KHH since Fish-N-Russ dosn't want them, I can take a 50 pc assortment off your hands. More than gladly I might add. PM or email me to work out all the details.
Have you tried any of the spin floats? They are pretty close to the birdies and come in 5 sizes, 4 solid colors, 3 combo colors, 1 glow in the dark, and unpainted. They are available at some of the small mid-valley shops or online. In the shops they are about .49 or .59 each, but direct they range from under .11 to .24 each plus all of our favorite 10% federal excise tax "Which applies to ALL articles of sport fishing equipment that are designed or constructed for the use in the sport of fishing". Unless an approved I.R.S. form 637 is on file.
Great find and if you share the wealth I would appreciate it.
Mike

hey KHH thanks for the offer but i would probably have to drive that long also I am in the south valley.

its ok though you can sell the ones you offered me to someone else that will use them. I only mentioned sharing them because someone said something about keepin them as collectors items or putting them on ebay. I figured it would be cool if you gave the guys here first shot at them if you were gonna sell them.

I find them around here and there but not in good colors those cherice ones work awsome.

anyway thanks again for the generous offer.

Don Greene @ Fisherman's Shack in Suver has glo-go 'imitations' for 21.75 per 100 or a little more in smaller quantities. I dont know if the birdie 'body' makes that much difference (thats why I asked).....but they sure look the same and he has many colors  I painted some glow in the dark ones red on one side so now I have some 'homemade' glo-gos

Ok, so whats the big deal about the birdys? I seen them in three differant stores today? none in boxes though, they were all bulk. Lots of colors also. I was buying some stuff to tye jigs up with and remembered the post about birdys, and they had them at all three stores I went to today. I just do not get what all the fuss is about, you got me curious...

F_N_R,
checked that link, they look the same in shape but not in size. the really hard to find ones are the size "0" like the ones pictured in this thread. I was thinking of ordering some at that site you put up but they only show size #1's.

Glassblower,
The size 0 are the low, clear water ticket..it's a corkie that spins giving it a little extra action and are also deadly with bait..sandshrimp/eggs.

I bought some from Don's place two days ago. I haven't tied any up yet, but I really like their size and the colors he had. What's the difference between size 1 and 0. Which one is smaller? The 1's seem to be about the size a dime...for a rough estimate. Well, maybe a tad smaller.

the 0's(pea size) are smaller than a 1(dime size). 1's and 2's(nickle size) are good for plunking with bait, but I prefer to drift the 0's.

heck I prefer the 1's then i have some 0's but mainly use them for diver and bait setups I like the 1's for drift fishing and sometimes on my back bounce set up when yhe water has a good green to it.

as far as what the deal is I can only speak for myself as tar as drift fishing I think they work equal to a corkie and yarn no better. but as a attracter when ack bouncing or using a diver bait rig I love thm because I just cringe when I look at the price of a spin n glo them babies are 80 cents each most places and size 1 birdies can be had for 20 to 30 cents. it makes a big difference when yer not daddy warbucks.
