Re: Best day EVER!!!!
I hope they only kept the fin clipped ones!
Hey maybe this is a way to save the hatcheries -- let people catch the excess fish for a price!
I wouldn't be real proud and have my picture taken like these guys!
Thanks for the article -- made my morning!

Hey, Scott Amerman, they are getting $.05 per egg! And some people thought your eggs were expensive.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
The very sad fact is, this is the view of "sportsmen" that the media and many urban Americans have.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
People traveled for THAT? This is the kind of stuff that fouls our nest. Lay persons that view that publication will throw the blanket of generalization over us all on the way to taking our rights to use the public lands etc. Why not just go down to the jetty on a real good outgoer and tie on an old boot. Be sure to check your leaders and knots after every boot!! I'm new not generally this radical, but this one got me! Fish on! Moldy Mike

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
Ok guys, I am reevaluating because it sorta looked like fun.
Please no flaming....I mean they had to empty the pens to get rid of the salmon so...why not. I think they should have let disabled people and kids do it now that would have been fun to be a part of!

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
How could anyone get involved in something like that without feeling like an idiot? I'm very glad this fish farm is being shut down. I studied fish farming in college biology and
if everyone knew how this type of farming is done and what kinds of diseases these fish produce, the informed person would never eat or purchase farmed salmon. I was at McCormick and Schmicks this weekend and asked the waiter wether the salmon was farmed or not and he said that in fact it was farmed. He went further to say that 99 percent of the public couldnt tell the difference and farmed salmon allowed them to have a steady supply of salmon. I just smiled and ordered something else. I wont support farmed salmon in any way. If I'm at a restaurant I will always ask if the fish is farmed or not. If you dont have much of an opinion on the subject of fish farming, spend some time and do some research.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
thats what i call yuppy fishing. just like the game farms all the rich guys hunt. let them do that i will take the public resources. i agree let the disabled/sick children fish it. it looks a bit dangerous though.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
You all are spoiled. These guys got to have a blast fishing for salmon. How many people get the chances that we do here? Not many at all.
I'm glad that they had a fun time.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
I think Gun Rod Bow is right on that. But I also think that what kruechief said is right to "I think they should have let disabled people and kids do it now that would have been fun to be a part of!" they should have done that.

Re: Best day EVER!!!!
Kinda reminds me of trout fishing up Canyon Creek where they dump the trout in the creek 3 days before the season opens. Those fish will bite on ANYTHING. Blast to take the kids with!
