Default Taken To School On The Clack

Fished a jig from the bank for about 2 hours today. Not one hit. To add insult to injury, Joe Salvey from Fish Hawk Adventures treated his clients to at least 4 keepers (I quit counting) in the same time period. All of them were taken in the same drift I was fishing not 30 feet from me. He was using a small red cheater with a tiny piece of roe side drifted through the hole. This I learned from the setup he left tangled in the blackberries just upriver from where I was standing. Simply amazing. No, I didn't have any eqgs, or I would have given it a try. Oh yeah, this hole gave up at least two other fish to other boats while I was there. Where is this hole, you ask? Sorry, my lips are zipped.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Joe Salvey (Talons), Fish Hunter, and Slow Roll today. We weren't clients today. Joe was generous enough to offer seats for the steelhead challenge. I jumped all over that and was treated to a wonderful day of fishing. Joe really knows his stuff and we ended up with six fish to the boat today. Best report I have heard in quite some time.

I know where that was.....and I wasn't even there

dbuettner-
Some nice fish came out of both EC#1 & EC#2 today. Spinners seemed to be the ticket in the low and clear water.

It was still dropping and clearing when I left at 3.

I think I know where he was.
What's the deal with not hooking any fish?
Good to hear the creek is producing.
Chris - Shouldn't you be working?

Hey, those fees only get them so many hours

It was a fun day, and I got to meet and teach some new guys. Appreciate the oppurtunity.

Bruce snuck away, and came back with a nice buck, probably 9 or 10 pounds. We also witnessed a kid get his first steelie on his first cast after hiking down from the bridge hole to the lower end on #1. Spinner size 3.

Priceless, and even tho he wasn't in the clinic, we gave him high fives, and the guys in my group were pumped for him and his dad. Turns out the kid lost another one a few minutes later. That kid is hooked

Makes my day everytime I get to see that

Off to give the boat a pep talk for tomorrow....

Chris

Cool.
Bruce has been hot as of late.
He got one on the Wilson Wed.
And has a couple out of the creek.
We did good on birds yesterday.
Good luck tomorrow.
Sounds like right at the feet of Buettner is a good place.

Yeah, apparently I bring good luck. I don't have good luck. Next time I'll take the clinic with Chris!

I was also there taking lessons from Fishhawk. We were side drifting as well but only got one. After we watched him with his 4th hookup it just kind of makes your jaw drop.

Sorry Dave, I will have to reveal the location. Especially as the winning steelhead challenge team caught most of its fish at your most productive feet. He was fishing OFC's Clackamas property along the trail leading up to the mouth of Eagle Creek.
To COOL !

db,
That was you? I wondered if it was an ifisher hanging out on the bank there. Hope we didn't tread on your toes.
Joe is a great guy to fish with. Heck, all those
guys on the boat were great to fish with.

Hope to see you on the water again sometime.
