Default Driftboat non-skid coating ???

Has anyone found anything better and more durable than gluvet for the bottom of their driftboat. I am about to do a new coat, and thought I would check with everyone. Thanks Bigjim

Coat it. The stuff works well. It is a graphite impreganted resin. You can apply it over Gluvit if you sand it and clean it. Gluvite cannot be applied over Coat it.

I have found that Coat-It works great; it sticks to the old Coat-It very well. It cures much faster than other coatings. Make sure you apply any two part expoxy coating on a warm day or a heated garage.

I agree wiht best fishes on the warm day or garage. When I did mine the weather turned cold on me and I had topoint a propane heater right at the boat to get it to cure.

Ultra poly is a superhigh strength polymer sheet that can be welded to the bottem of aluminum drift boats or sleds,I sell it to most of the boat manufactures here in the northwest. who typicaly put it on highend sleds and guide boats.
thats how they magicaly cross over rocks that wood destroy the typical hull.

Fisherman's and GI Joes both carry it. When I bought mine, Fisherman's had the better price.

Coat-it is definitely the way to go. Very user friendly, if done on a warm to hot day.

I have used Evercoat and added a little more graphite It seems slicker and holds up just as well to me.

I used coat it on mine and I really like it I can hold my boat in most tail out and it has been fairly durable but Ialso put two coats on it so it would hold up better. It is a 16' Koffler drift boat I bought used. It was the first time I ever put a coating on the bottom of anything and I must admit it went fairly well.

I use coat it. It is a little cheaper than glove it.

coat-it is available at Bi-Mart for ~$18 a quart, I put 2 layers on my 16' Aluminum drifter ~4 quarts, took about a day including prep, 1st application, setup(dry) time and 2nd application. I love it, was easy to do with a low pile roller and squeegee. It really helps in the river too.
