Hit three rivers with C-O-T-R and rainorshine this morning. Fished the mouth all the way up to the hatchery. Then ran up to Wolf creek area on the Nestucca and then back to farmers (not sure of name) boat ramp? Did not see one fish landed on the bank or even a hook up. Unless you count COTR numerous hookups with the bottom

We did see one jump so we know there is at least one fish in that river but he’s a dark one from what I saw.

I guess we did see one guy lose a fish on a jig around the s turns below the hatchery this morning but never really got a look at it the fish so Think his name was Wiliam something?

Tried everything in the bag from eggs, sand shrimp, jigs tossed a few spinners a rag or two and even busted out the pink worm and didn’t have so much as a bump. I did get pretty cold though had a nice wind come up that really topped off the morning..

I’ll be on the Wilson Saturday with team Duck Fin-Addicts for the challenge and my team’s inevitable and glorious victory.

I would not even bother getting up early if I was anybody else just going to be a wasted day. If I had to go I would try the Clack or Sandy I hear they are red hot and rolling right now and hardly anybody on them Saturdays . Don’t waste your time on the coast as there are no fish to be found.

Good luck but you will need more then that.

Default Where are all the fish? Nestuc report

Drifted Farmers Creek to Cloverdale Wednesday. Water was a little high, color was great. Pulling plugs was too much work in this flow, so we mostly drift fished and concentrated on the slower flows on the inside edges of bends.

Brought one hatchery fish to the side of the boat and involuntarily released it (tactical error in the battle) at the 101 Bridge. Had 2 other takes and that was it.

There were no fish on the bank at Three Rivers at noon with about 12 rods in the water. A group of 6 guys looked to have hung it up and were enjoying their bonfire and not even looking at the river. Heard also from another boat that by 2:00, they finally had a fish on the bank at three rivers.

At the takeout, one guy had a rusty red, flat out ugly snake of a buck that had sea lice all over it. Go figure. When they got it in the boat, it milted all over the place. I saw a post awhile ago that the rough bar conditions were keeping the fish out. Would the condition of this buck (who appeared to be more than primed and ready to do his deed 1 or 2 days out of the salt) be explained by this?

Unless things sound more encouraging, I'm heading off to Sturgeon fish this weekend.
