Must be something new. My old USA built Traeger is not adjustable to the extent it would make a difference in how the grill operates.

Cant see it making enough difference to matter.

I have a new lid coming for mine. The powdercoat peeled on the edges and started to rust. They stand behind their product very well. Top notch service from Traeger. George in the service department gets 'er done.

depends on the ambient temperature...wide open it is cooler inside...closed down it is hotter. I use it to help keep it at 225 (I don't have the digital tstat)
