If you are going to be in a boat, try fishing in front of columbia city. There is a old house/hotel? out in front of that is a 50-70' hole fish there.

i think a lot of people sturgeon fish by the mouth of the Lewis River. i believe it 's the river just on the other side of sand island from the st. helens marina.

i think that's the lewis. anyway i always see people fishing there.

try fishing on the up river side of the long house and out on the line.(line up with the red day marker down below the long house and the up river red channel marker stay in side of that line about 10 ft.the red day marker is just below the long house and on the bank.)if stay out towards the line you will not get snagged in the cable .i too have lost alot of gear in that cable including a anchor as well.good luck i hope this helps.

if you get that anchor i'll take it, its a danforth w/ about 10' of chain and oh 60' of rode. LTF you can trust what sportster says he's caught a alot of diamond sides in that area, the out going tide being the best, it really rips in there. Don't be afraid to move around, be sure to use your fish finder to find feeding fish... good luck
