Default do you turn in your tags?

I usually do after I mark on my calendar when to start hitting certain rivers or areas that I caught fish in the previous year.

My tag is one of the best tools I have. Too lazy to keep a journal.

I keep a detailed notes on my fishing (yes I get **** from my friends) and I always turn in my tag, I normally turn mine in at the sportsman show because I always get my new lic and tag before the end of the year

And you could win a drift boat this year

I "surrender" my tag every year, but not before I photo copy the important side to keep for reference.

Nope, ODFW knows everything already. Or at least they think they do...

If you don't turn in your tag, you can't complain about ODFW or WDFW making bad decisions based on incomplete data.

I always turn in my tags. It's the fish checkers who haven't heard a truthful word outa me in quite a while unless we didn't catch anything.

Exactly! I always turn mine in. My friend I work with bought a tag but didn't catch anything in the 2 times he actually made it out. He asked if he should turn it in, I said yes your tag is in the system. What if ODFW figures every un-returned tag is full.

DID ANYONE NOTICE? Since Oregon began using the "new paper" a few years back you had been able to erase most any entry on a harvest card with a little spit. Finally, Oregon has gone to "spit proof" paper. That is why they required an entry be done in ball point pen so it left an indentation in the paper. Try it out on an old and your new documents. NW Steelheaders worked for years to make it harder to get a "lost" harvest tag replaced time after time only to have erasable harvest tags handed out by the state. It's good that the new documents are more difficult to alter. It's vital that the harvest tags be returned to keep track of runs and timing. Take a look in the regs..... Someone has to win those donated prizes for returned tags. Why not you?
