Default Saturday's Flotilla on the Sandy River

This is to alert fellow I-Fishers that the Sandy River Chapter of the Northwest Steelheaders will be having their 9th annual Frost Bite Follies on the Sandy River this Saturday, January 11th. We expect to have 30-35 participants in drift boats between Oxbow and Dabney. Along with the fishing, participants will be conducting a river clean up of trash along the river banks.

Although we will make every effort to respect bank fishermen and other boaters, we want to alert everyone, especially those of you seeking uncrowded conditions, that we're going to be out there. Thank you for your patience.

Doc, could you guys move that possibly to the Clackamas? I've read a couple good posts today about the Clack heating up and I just wanted to keep everything on an even keel for the challenge.

One more time at the top.

Steelheadslayer, as stewards of the Sandy River, it wouldn't make much sense for the Sandy River Chapter to move its annual celebration of the river over to the Clackamas. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just a reminder to all I think it is "West fly" doing the same float on the 18th. You have been warned.

FYI- There will be 13-15 boats with 37-40 anglers. You will not experience seclusion on the Sandy on Saturday from Oxbow to Dabney.

In looking at the shuttle signup at westfly, it appears you can count on at least that many from there, too... hmmm... thirty plus drifters on the same stretch, at approximately the same time...

Can you say rodeo?

Westfly Oregon Bulletin Board

Topic: Westfly Sandy River Drift Boat Rondi & River Clean Up

They are planning to be on the Sandy River January 18th to do a flyfishing fish-Along and River Cleanup.

westfly.com is the Flyfishing version of ifish.net You will see many of the same user names on that board as you do on this one. One of them is a Sandy Steelheader that I do not think I have met.
