Default Wilson Report 12-8

Hello all,
Fished for a couple hours this morning...went 0 for 1 at the MP6 drift on a Blue steelie spoon with a singe siwash (SP?) hook (no barb) fished like you would a drift setup (bouncing off the bottom a couple times through the drift) minus the slinky of course... Water was pretty high but fishable...Color was good...River should be in great shape later this week! See y'all on the river!

Thanks for the report. I also fished the Wilson today behind the Guide Shop from 3-5pm. There were about 1/2 dozen people fishing the area. Saw 2 drift boats go by. I had no luck w/ corkie, corkie & yarn and Blue Fox spinner. The guy next to me hooked a very large steelhead on a red corkie but it came off.

This is my second time fishing for steelhead and I haven't had any luck. I'm using 8'6" Lamiglass spinning rod w/ Okuma reel w/ 12# Maxima line. I'm a bankie and I would love an opportunity to tag along w/ another bankie. All I want for Christmas is a picture w/ a steelhead. Merry Christmas and tight lines ya'll!

Good luck. I'm in search of my first winter fish for the year. I think today is the day.

Also fished the Wilson at Elk Creek and Jones Creek for a few hours yesterday... bobber and jig. No action. Seemed like great kayaking conditions.
I'm usually out there on mondays or tuesdays if anybody wants to meet up.

uspolymer,

I would not hesitate beating the banks down there if I still lived in them parts.

I find a great sense of self worth, if you will, when I can give a fellow bank maggot some tips. The nice thing about it is that it is a learning experience for both parties.

If you fish the clack/eagle creek this winter don't hesitate to e-mail me. I used to put a clinic on there and have won the steelhead derby twice from them systems. It used to be luck when I first started.

When you hook-up with the right person they can dial you in to where the fish will be at when a certain rock is submerged (you catch my drift).
