Ok. Question about the gate right above the nf hatchery. Basically getting access on the other side of the river below the hatchery? Do the owners(logging company) care about driving on their property? Is the area to fish easy to find once you are back there? How far to drive back in there? I heard you can fish that but I was wondering if they locked the gate etc. etc.

flop eared mule,

You are caught! It's an ifish custom that your first post is an introductory post with a fish story. It's not mandatory, but fun!

Usually, you get more responses after you introduce yourself.

flop eared mule: I picked up a fish at the tailout of the falls below the hatchery this morning, but otherwise it seemed pretty slow. River has fallen. As usual, the next rains will improve conditions.

The backside access is pretty good. Keep to your left when you go back there - about a mile from the bridge. You'll be able to see the hatchery at one point. Take a hard left on a dead-end road that heads down towards the river. The turn-around at the end is usually a mud bog, so don't go into it without 4wd and don't drive all the way down if you can see umpteen rigs parked. I usually park a ways up the road off to the side and hoof it. Once you walk down to the end of the road you'll see a crummy little mud trail/road that goes to the river. Best access down there is with chest waders, so you don't have to crawl up on the bank so much. Lots of water to flog.
