Default belt or vest

so, the wife got me a fishing vest for christmas. before that, i used a belt for all my gear and was really happy with it. for her sake, i'm trying to adapt to the vest but so far it just feels uncomfortable to me and most of the time i have to use both hands to get something or put it back.

so, just a quicky poll to see what everyone favors.

well, when hiking and fishing from the bank the fanny pack or fly fishermans pack that looks like a reverse backpack works the best if you want to rest your shoulder to fight fish instead of fighting a 15-20lb vest up to you how much wt you wish to pack. but from a boat it just doesn't matter brother.

gerber multiplier only way to go. unless you like packing that rambo buck knife of yours. hehehe.

Last year we both got each other new vests and the fanny packs for tackle. So as it turns out she doesnt use either puts all her stuff in a 6x9 travel bag, runs out real quick and asks (Bugs)me the rest of the day got any slinkies, pre-tied leaders, and swivles. One of htose belt bags broke at the buckle and the plastic trays on top dont stay shut well. The vest is still the better functioning investment. Now if I can only get her to wear it.

Saw an interesting option at FlyFishUSA in Welches on Sunday. It was kinda like saddle bags and hung over your shoulders on straps with two big pouches in front and one in the rear for a rain jacket, water bottles, etc. You could adjust the height from up on your chesr to your waist. I have seen similar items at FMO but this looked far superior. Mark Bachman said it was his best selling item for jauling gear to the river. For $50, I almost bought it, but successfully restrained myself.
