they count fish every day ... the Fish Passage Center is apparently not receiving any reports , since their recently updated tables are "data-free". I'll talk to their data manager and find out what's up, since he's responsible for reporting all the data from all the CR dams.

Underscoring their graphical ineptitude, the Corps of Engineers appears to have quit work on December 15th since they have not updated daily fish counts since then!

It seems to me in past years they didn't start making the counts available on their site again untill Feb. or Mar. ??

Nope, SMJ, if you go to the ACOE site, you'll see that they reported every day, all year long for the last few years ... up until December 16, 2002. I have submitted an inquiry to the Corps and have called a friend at the Fish Passage Center ... I'll report back when I have more info.

Hey Pete,

Maybe this is the Corp.'s new salmon management strategy - "No data = No problem" !?!?

The reporting schedule for fish passage at the Columbia River dams is:

Bonneville Dam March 15 to November 15
The Dalles Dam April 1 to October 31
John Day Dam April 1 to October 31
McNary Dam April 1 to October 31
Ice Harbor Dam April 1 to October 31
Lower Monumental Dam April 1 to October 31
Little Goose Dam April 1 to October 31
Lower Granite Dam March 1 to December 15
Priest Rapids Dam April 15 to November 15
Rock Island Dam April 15 to November 15
Rocky Reach Dam April 15 to November 14
Wells Dam May 1 to November 15

So, I guess the answer to the original question is, No, they are not still counting fish.
