Default Down time during high water

Good idea tying the rigs while the water conditions are high. I used the fishing down time to tie some jigs and get gear orginized. I find that the preperation is alomst as rewarding as the goal. The high water is what will disperses the fish throughout the system and make it interesting to fish. I don't think it is a waste of time fishing the high water as long as it is coming down. If it is pouring rain and muddy go home and relax. Timing is everything. Next weekend promises good conditions and crome fish.

Default Re: Down time during high water

I agree SF,
I use down time to Sharpen Hooks, and I pre tie all my drift gear. Clean up gear and Clean out the boat. I try not to let what I read on fishing conditions change my trip plans. If I did that I probably would never fish. Fish are not the only thing I seek on a float but the outdoors is the turn on. I think it's soooo funny how all the bad B.S. threads on ifish usually start when the Rivers are High and the catch is low...... Think about it everyone
