Brine,

I knew a guy that always fished it and always hooked up there, he fished out of his boat though.
I always wanted to go with him but I just never asked. oh well be sure to post when their in.

As far as rigging goes, there's just so many ways in going at it. you can get a good idea in the archives.

Happy searching

When plunking a big water such as the Willamette, the gear requirements depends on the water current. So depending on what size sinker you'll need there, it also should determine the size and length of the rod, reel, and line. Just to give you an idea, if the current and depth situation there is anything similar to Meldrum Bar, you'd be better off with a rod at least 10' in length and reel big enough to hold at least 200 yds. of 20-30 lb. test line.

Default Best Plunking Outfit ?

I had a little bird tell me the other day that the Willamette River at the mouth of the Yamhill might be a good spot for plunking for Springers. Not having a plunking setup, I was wondering if I could tap the brains of you'all for opinions on the best rod and reel setup. Also, would anyone be willing to lend credence to the Springer fishing at this spot ?

Well I don't think there is a best for this topic, People plunk with all kinds rods. If you need to throw a lot of lead then you need a rod that is rated for that. If you have a rod for Salmon & Steelhead casting or spinning it might work just fine. You many want to drive over to Oregon City and look at what all the plunkers use and than you will see what I mean.
