Default Estacada Tackel jig Bobber

Just got a few of these bobbers at the Sportsmen’s warehouse in Salem and have a question. They came with toothpicks and I m not sure why. I always use a bobber stop and a bead to set the depth but I was thinking that maybe the toothpick was for that somehow. Anybody know what the heck I am talking about? Here is a link to the bobber so you can see the set up.

Ya I use to use those bobbers. Remember old Bradbury use to sell them with his Jig probably still does. You run the line through the bobber and to set it as a fixed you wrap the line around a tooth pick or a wood match(my favorite) and push it in the bottom. Good Stuff still use them once in a while when I find them in the Gear. Real nice to cast lots O wait in them.
Hope it helps

Nice lookijng jigs on the web site.
Toothpicks are definately for fixed depth , not a slider rig.

It's no coincidence that after Bradbury went out of production, Estacada Tackle started. They are Bradbury bobbers!! The newer ones are a little brighter yellow is all. Same mold.

They also look like those Uncle Walts bobbers (seen at Fishermans). Their plastic coated and have some lead inside of balsa. The story I heard was Bradbury wasn't making them anymore so Uncle Walt's Tackle started too. Walts have regular bobber stops...don't believe they use the toothpicks, although I'm sure they would work.
