Default Food Saver-Alternative Uses

Here's a couple of things I use my foodsaver for other than vacuum packing food

Gap new spark plugs for the kicker put back in original box then vacuum seal and store in boat. I even label the packet using a permanent marker with the gap and what motor they are for.

Shine up the salmon spinners at the end of the season and vacuum seal. Ready to go next season with no tarnish.

Who has some other ideas that work?

I do something similar. I have a "water proof" box that I use for tools and spare electrical items in the boat, but it always seemed to draw moisture and the tools would corrode. So... I now vacuum seal the small tool kit and a few other items that may become critical out on the water. I rarely have to get into this kit and it is nice to know all the items will be dry, clean and usuable when I do have to.

A buddy of mine at Pacific City vacuum packed a spare CB radio for
his dory. Dories are "wet" boats and this worked well!

You have to vac-pac your TP, in the boat or camping gear! Something about damp (or no) TP that my wife hates.........

Another obvious use is dry clothes. Roll pants, shirt, UW, and socks and vacuum pack. Clothes stay nice and dry.

I got one of those flare guns with flare's . I keep that all sealed up so it stays dry. Plus it won't sink if you drop over the side !
Also if you put your machine on the low vac. setting you can seal up your boat registration form !..........Big Dave.

I have two , unfortunately I'm a smoker, so a few packs of ciggarettes are always sealed with waterproof matches.

seal your permits and registrations so they can be read through the packaging,

I have always sealed pistols, rifle bolts, clips and ammo.

Theres little packages of silica that you find in medicine jars, and other products you buy, throw one of those in for moisture.

Go to the shoe section and theres one in every box of shoes (exept for the stores I have been to)...ask the salesperson to save 'em for you.
