Hi
Early this month a fishing buddy and I thought we'd take a trip over to one of our favorite coastal rivers to maybe pick up an early winter run. We put in at day light and side drifted through a couple of long sections of water, nothing

.So we pull up and went on down and stop at the top of a nice chute, it look good so I ran some eggs through it and fish on  but it was a wild Coho which we realeased. We thought it look good a little lower so we slipped down and my buddy hooks a nice fish, we got a quick look, a nice silvery flash,we thought, winter run but it was another bright Coho  It was getting around noon so pulled up and drifted down to a place that we usualy catch a steelhead and stop. My buddy hooks a real ripper, but it was a nice Chum that we had to turn back

.Well we talk it over and decided to hang for a little longer and in a few minutes my buddy hooks up

and this fish is big.Hes got 12 lb. leader on so it was real battle ,when we got in the boat it was 39 lb Chanook ,well it did'nt take me long to put on the same little pinkish thing he was using and in three cast , fish on

33 lb chrome hen. What a early steelhead trip
