Shake N Bake needs a new home
As much as I hate see her go, I have made an offer on a new boat and it is time for Shake N Bake to find a new home.
She is turn key and truly maintained with an open checkbook.
Shake N Bake is a 1979 35' Bertram convertible that is set up for tuna fishing.
She had two big blocks with around 700 hours on them. She cruises at 18-20 knots and burns around 160 gallons per tuna trip. She has a custom 369 gallon aluminum tank for extra range and no ethanol problems. New 4 blade props and new rudders, as well as trued shafts in the last two years.
Top of the line electronics: Raymarine E120, two E80's, radar, and Raymarine Smartpilot with a wireless remote, as well as a fairly new EPIRB. She also has two nearly new DSC radios and 6 man DBC raft also comes with her. All of the helm gauges were updated and put in a custom wooden gauge pod that Woody built. The hanging lockers were also completely redone in teak by Woody a few years ago.
She is totally customized with bench seating in the salon and tons of storage. All the parts that were wood cored and typically rot (deck, salon doors and bulkhead) were replaced with Glasstech reproduction pieces.
Here is a link to the interior work Woody did: http://www.ifish.net/gallery/showgal.../4/ppuser/2703
Huge cockpit (I usually fish 6-7 guys) with a custom livewell tackle station. She also comes with two of the largest Reliable kill bags, which hold a ton of tuna.
I am asking $44K, but the boat can be had for a bit less without the electronics.
She is on the hard in Ilwaco (just got new bottom paint, having windows resealed and new portholes put in) and will be in slip E-3 next week if anyone wants to climb aboard and take a look.
Mike C
PS- Mods, I know this should probably be in the for sale section, but I am guessing a lot of guys are like me and never look there, so if you could leave this in the Salty Dogs for a few days, I would appreciate it.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
I don't have a bunch of photos right now, but here is one of the custom tackle station with a 4 scoop livewell and an older photo before I tinted the windows and added 15 rocket launchers.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
My wife and I saw this boat a couple weeks ago as we were driving around the area and had to make a comment on shake and bake (I'm a bit Will Farrell fan). Good luck on the sale!

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
This boat comes fully equipped with good juju. It's a proven tuna slayer and very well appointed with modern updates. It's definitely worth a look if you're searching for a larger boat.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
Shake n Bake is a tuna slaying machine.
She is a comfortable ride out and back and has plenty of room to fish and stack the deck.
Something about this boat really brings the fish up on live bait stops consistently.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
Thanks for the kind words guys.
I am pretty sure she is the only NW boat that has caught TWO opahs.
I hate to see her go, but I have 13 foot itis and there is only one cure for that and I don't need two boats.
Whoever ends up with her is going to get a ton of boat for the $$.

Hmmm...I think it has as much to do with the crew...pictured here. Lotsa killers.
Its a steal for the price Mike is offering and runs fully found.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
I finally heard back from the bank regarding a short sale and it looks like I am going to be the proud owner of a 48' Viking tomorrow.
I don't need two boats, so if anyone is interested in Shake N Bake (name reserved) I am willing to sell her stupid cheap if you get in touch with me before I move her to PDX and list her with a broker.

All you need is a drift boat.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
Man, I loved this boat the first time I saw it gearing up for a an OTC event in Garibaldi. That was 5 or 6 years ago and it looks like you've added a ton of upgrades since then. So let me get this straight, for the price of a used ~20' river boat, I guy could buy the Shake N Bake and be tuna fishing in style on a Bertam?

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
Tim,
For what I spent on the custom fuel tank, flo scans, epirb, radios, and the electronics, you can buy the whole boat. I have another $100K or so in receipts from all the stuff that was replaced the year before I bought it.
I am one of those guys who pours a bunch of $$ into a boat or classic car and then moves on to do it again. I am already having the console of my 48' Viking completely torn out and reglassed so it is the way I want it.

Re: Shake N Bake needs a new home
Guys,
Shake N Bake (name reserved) should be back in the water this week after having new bottom paint and new portholes installed. If anyone is interested, feel free to climb aboard and take a look. She is in Ilwaco in slip E-5.
I am getting ready for the run home in the new boat in a few months, so I am definitely motivated.
I am asking $38K and might be willing to finance some of the purchase price.

If anyone is interested in my boat, make an offer now, as I am about to list it with a broker, but I will make you a smoking deal if you make me an offer before I do.
