Re: pics. help???
I did not receive a notice, and if it didn't come up at the top, it didn't succesfully load.
Remember, no spaces in the name... has to be a .jpg or .gif and under 200k.
Other than that, it's simple!

Re: pics. help???
maybe it's just a quirk that effects me, but, I have to wait until ALL of the pictures in the upload section have downloaded before it will accept one from my files. If I try to upload before all the pics are done loading, it will transfer the link to the top of the page, but the picture will not show and it will not be in with the rest of the uploaded pics. I have to go back and rename the file, make sure that it is the right file type and size, and then try again. It always works, then.
Good luck...

Re: pics. help???
This comes up at the top of the page after I click upload
File=PC260009.JPG
PC260009.JPG UPLOADED!
Renamed 394219360.JPG
(this might not be exact)
Then I click upload again and ............

Re: pics. help???
Right click on the image, then click on properties. It will tell you resolution and file size.
or
Look at the file size on your local machine.

Re: pics. help???
Boy can I relate!!!
Once you figure it out, its easy...BUT.
Between learning to post a pic and learning all the stuff with my computer to make it all happen, it took me and my pea sized computer brain about 8 hours. Now I ordered a digital camera to learn it all over again... I must be a glutton for punishment.

Re: pics. help???
WOODUXS
first check to see if the name of your file is not more than 8 characters long if it is just rename it, go where your photo is stored (hard drive)
and right click the icon, choose rename it. That's what happened to me and I was stumped for a while. sometimes your computer automatically assigns a name for your file.
if that's not it then go to your imaging software or photosoftware, open your photo with that program and you should have the option to resize it, just browse around the pull down tabs and look for anything that reads resize.
then if you do find something like that just downsize your photo and save your photo at the new size you set but make sure you choose a name that is not more than 8 characters long.
If this doesn't work then send the photo to me and let me take a look at it.

Re: pics. help???
I had some trouble at first, could not figure out what I was doing wrong, It finely hit me that my fire wall has to be turned off to upload pictures. It would keep freezing my computer up.
I also have to wait until the picture loads at the top not just the writing. Then hit upload the second time.

Re: pics. help???
Sorry... I've been up sick all night...
One thing that might work, that I have found, is if the file path is too long, it can't find it.
Some people have their pictures in, for example:
C/pictures/my favorites/nikon/view/222222.jpg.
That's too long for the finicky thing.
If you move them directly to the drive and then upload... POOF! It works!
Never mind that, though. Frustration has it's limits. Send it to me, and I'll do it for you.
Jen

Re: pics. help???
To fix it so your link works you must remove the 1 in brackets along with the brackets and put a [/img] on the end directly after the .jpg
To get your pic to come up as easily as I did I just went to the picture upload section opened your photo right cliked and chose properties and highlighted the address for the photo. go to the post where you want it and click the image button and paste it in.

Re: pics. help???
The reason your pic wouldn't upload is because it had a .JPG extension, instead of lower case.
I need to add a trouble shooting section to the upload thing.
I'll work on that this week.

Re: pics. help???
I usually just send a photo file to a floppy after cropping it with paint or windows fax viewer, rename it with a simple number, and upload from there...that way the original file stays in-tact in "my photos" folder the floppy file is as simple as A:\1.jpg
Just my 2 cents

THANK YOU !!!!
Friday the wind here was really blowin. This pic would not be any big deal except for the fact that the cover that is now in my driveway used to be behind the carport (up & over) luckily both vehicles were gone!!!
