Default ADVICE ON A NEW FISHFINDER

Just bought a new boat and can't wait to go Springer fishing! I need advice and/or opinions on a new fishfinder. I'm leaning toward the Lowrence X97 but am also considering the Eagle or Humminbird Matrix.

My fishing will primarily be in the local rivers and bays. I am not planning any ocean fishing.

I would appreciate any feedback or opinions on these fishfinders from my IFISH friends.

Happy Fishing!! - Hank Baits

My dad and I put the Lowrance LCX-15MT on our boat last year, and we absolutely love it fishfinders

there is the link to that one, you can also find all the other lowrance models there too, its there full line, I dont think the X97 would steer you wrong either, I really like the lowrance compared to the other ones I have seen or used, bottom line, eagle, etc.
just a preferance, good luck, happy hunting

I have the Lowance X-87 and I really like it. Make sure before you buy it and check and make sure that it comes with thr transdaucer that allows you to get boat speed readings. I bought the X87 and then found out that I now have to buy a different transducer boat speed and distance traveled.

I too am looking to fit the the boat with a new depth finder...
I am looking at the Lowrance x98DF and the x97

I have been doing the research for a month or so.. and talking with a few guides.. looks like the LCX-15 MT is by far the most popular, but I already have a GPS ??

If you shop around, ebay looks like a great place to pick one up! (I buy a ton of stuff from ebay)
and if you go to www.lowrance.com they have a list of retailers, shop around they seem to range a bit in price!
