Default I Am Officially UNSKUNKED

Rock, Stick, or Fish and I were to go with Fishing Freak in his driftboat on the Wilson today (Thanks, Frank), but when we got to the Guide Shop, the winds were horrendous so we decided that discretion was the better part of valor and decided to wait for another day. RSF and I returned to Portland and decided to try the Clack. Went by Eagle Creek, but it looked blown out and the parking lot was full so we headed on to Barton Park. After a couple of hours I landed my first steelhead a 25" hatchery buck. Will post some pics later this evening.

Congrats!

Sounds like persistance was also your better part of valor today too!

I see the Clack graph looks like a perverbial hockey stick. Was it muddying up?

Actually, the mainstem Clack looked fine. EC and other creeks were pretty muddy.

The water itself was pretty good, nice color and decent level. One concern was huge chunks of debris washing downstream due to wind/high water. I saw one tree collapse across the river, it was pretty impressive and I was glad I wasn't near it. I lost a jig to a just submurged piece of stuff...

Great work HBJ! And on a day when the fishing was tough at its easiest. You spanked me - I went to work thinking things would be too poor for fishing.
