sunday sturgeon (pics)
fished with bluetick today. i showed him a thing or two about crabbing last sunday,so he showed me a thing or two about sturgeon today.
then it was my turn..
"hey these things are kinda sharp and pokey". this was actually 42 inches. we had a great time. i talked to waterdog on the radio. and met another ifisher. the biggest thing i learned is, that if you squish the smelt and slather it up with some smelly goo you will catch something.. i think i found a new winter hobby. here is where we caught them.
 only the houses were covered up to protect the innocent.

Re: sunday sturgeon (pics)
Hey Bug Flicker
I'm really impressed you cropped the pictures no one should figure it out except maybe HOOKUM HI.
Really glad we hooked up today,"if you know what I mean". Glad I was able to teach you something. I think I should market that smelly goo, maybe we could call it carrot gooey cake or how about Jeff's secret gator goo. It seems to be working much better since I added the thickener to it, lasts longer in the water.
I think I may have to get into that carrot I mean gator tournament on the 10th, could be alot of fun. I could invite CHAIN LINK and HOOKKUM HI of coarse I'd have to do more scouting, sounds like the team you'll be in already has it in the bag, I know you mentioned Sturgeon Tom and some others. With ny secret sauce I think I may stand a chance.
I lost count after 30 gators today in a few short hours. What do you think, should we make a commitment to this tournament????
Jeff

With my keen eyesight and intuition I was able to determine the exact location you were at...

Re: sunday sturgeon (pics)
Hey Bug Flicker - thanks for the compliment, but you remember last year?
I had the biggist skunk going - not even a shaker bite all day - even on the infamous pink squid! I'm just hoping not to drag Sturgon Tom and No Wishing Just Fishin (Last years winner) down to the bottom with me.
We shall see -

Re: sunday sturgeon (pics)
Hey Keith I think I'm gonna ask Julie and Joni to be on my team. This green of team we can't help but win or place high. We could call it the GREEN CARROT team. If your gonna be on the best team I might as well have the best looking. We'll probably out fish you guys. I'll bring it up with the ladys at tomorrow night's x mas party. Maybe we can follow you guys around, or well go to my secret spot and use the famous secret scent.
Jeff

Nice fish fellows. That is a pretty good spot on the Sauvie Island side just down from Kelley Point. I fish that area often myself

Re: sunday sturgeon (pics)
Sounds like things picked up for ya, Bug-flicker. We lost count too. Just too much action to keep track.
I fished both Saturday and Sunday, no keepers but many in the 24" to 38" inch range. Saturday, I fished with fortywinks and squid was the bait of choice. Sunday, I took my 15 year old daughter and smelt with sturgeon feast was the better bait this day. Only a couple boats out on Saturday and maybe a dozen on Sunday. Thanks to all those that stayed home.
I think I may have found my crew for the challenge. Daughter doesn't get to fish much but with a little coaching she turned out to be a fish catching machine. Even though the weather wasn't great and her feet and hands were cold, she said she had a blast and is ready to go again. Good job Jeff. Much better than we did last weekend, I see you got for the crabs too
Remember when I said the next time we get together, well you found the spot already. BTW, you also went past many other great spots on your way to this one
