Where are you going to put in at? Use to live on the Sky before moving down to Portland.

GWS,

I put in at the Lewis Street bridge in Monroe most of the time or down at the Lowell Park ramp if fishing low. Can't launch at the Snohomish River park anymore.

It look like I may be the only Ifisher on the Sky this winter!!! Anybody else out there??

GWS, how did you do while you were up here?

This is my first post and I don't have time for a story right now. I am posting because of a safety concern about the drift below Lewis street.

I used to fish on the Sky before I moved down to Corvallis. Anyway, I read on another board that there is a tree and a big root ball in the middle of the river just around the corner below the Lewis street bridge. Be careful because they were talking about some guy who drownd there. :depressed:

Try going to the website below and do a search.

I will try to get a story in before too long...

I fish there a good bit. The log jam is gone now, cleared out from the fall's floods. The drowning was tragic, a family was canoeing and they got pushed up against the logs. The kid drowned with his parents just feet away. Their only crime was inexperience and bad luck.

The Sky is low and clear now, and fishing has been very slow. I fish there and on the Snoqualmie a lot. Blue over silver north river sled, blue cooler, australian shepard mutt dog.

I second that, the Sky is low with very little steelhead activity. Everything is just late this year. There are still chums coming up the river!! (Not very many, but still some) The guys at Three Rivers Marine fish the daylights out of the Sky. They used to post reports fairly regularly on their website. Good group of guys. I usually fish higher up towards Reiter ponds because that is where the hatchery fish are headed. A lot of guys do fish down low and do very well. Easy river to read and fish and can be very productive. I probably will not hit it until mid January. Look for the Green Machine  Why not the Cowlitz? I heard someone caught a 25 1/2 pound hatchery steelhead recently.

Talked with the game warden today and said very few were caught on the Sky. He said lots of people trying though. My guess is the guys that really know the river and habits of fish are probably doing ok. Me on the other hand, well no pictures. Good luck.
