Boat top help

I am about to put a new top on the Big Ol' Red Beast. I have talked to Bentleys and like the top they started making for North River. My question is this. What are some other shops in the area that might be able to do me a better price than Bentley's while still getting the same quality Top Gun top?

You can try Steven's Marine in Milwaukie. My mother-in-law does the boat tops there. Labor will likely be the same price but materials & material prices will vary greatly between shops. Last time I spoke with her they only use waterproof breathable material (more money).

She did a custom cover for my pram last year and it is very nice.

Motion Marine are doing there own tops and doing tops for other people. There # is (503)557-1802, They use velcro and snaps which makes for a nice seal on top of windshield.
Also use a heavy wall aluminum tubing.

I just got a top made for my jet boat @ Tony's Custom Tops in Tigard. He has been in the business for 20+ years and did a great job. The best part is if you mention you were referred by a previous customer, you get a 15% discount. They are open Sun afternoons, or at least I was told they are, for boat dropoffs and pick-ups. Give Top & Trim Upholstery in Gresham a call. Owner is Craig Payton. Ph. (503) 665-8986, Cell phone: 503-880-5198. Craig made a complete top, side curtains and back wall for my boat. He also made a towing cover. His material of choice is Top Gun. He was at least $200 less than the other estimates I got, and I am very happy with his work.

I had all my stuff done at Jerry's Upholstry un Boring. Top, aft curtain, side curtains and tonneau cover. He was far less expesnsive than Bentley's, quicker and did a Great Job. I have referred quite a few people to him and not on dissatisfied customer.

I gree with Safety Chain,

Jerry's Upholstery in Boring, Jerry beat Bentley's price & schedule by far. He did a complete full top for me (custom too). I picked out colors, number of zippers, height, and he even had me specify the hem piping color.

Top notch business, "I'LL BE BAAK!"

Thanks guys for all your help. I am going to start calling around tomorrow. I would like to have the new top in action by mid January.
