Default kelly point boat launches

After checking Oregon Marine Board Launch guide, it showed 2 launches on hayden island @ double tree hotels, 1 below I-5, and 1 above I-5. 42nd st ramp is currently closed. We get to hayden island and no ramps as indicated in the guide, Ya, you knew that! We did'nt. So we headed for cathedral ramp and launched. So my question is: what are the options coming from the east? Anything on the washington side below 205 or I-5?

This may be a dumb question, but if you put in on the Washington side do you need a Washington tag? I'm sure this was addressed numerous times already?

There is also a ramp behind Caterpillar Island on the west side of Vancouver. Puts you out a couple miles below Kelly Point. No docks, gravel lot and a skinny ramp.

Do they charge to use the ramp at marine park in vancouver?

Also, an fyi, watch out for vandalism at the launch behind Caterpillar island. Pretty remote and have heard it had been a problem in the past. Just a heads up.....

check out the new sturgeon rules post. if a couple of those options are selected you wont need places to launch for kelly point because you wont be able to catch keepers when the keepers are in the area.

I like to use Fred's Marina but beware of the rouge fire plug

Fred's is at the mouth of the Multnomah Chanel of the big W, a very short run to Kelly Point. Launch fee is $5 and I have never had a problem there. There is even a nice little floating store!

If you need the exact address go to google.com and type in "freds marina portland oregon. and it will show up. I use their zip code for weather.com checking wind!
