Nothing this time thank goodness or I might be sleeping in it. My lovely bride has endured many similar exchanges and still keeps me around, but one more might be the "fat lady singing". They say living with a Norse builds character and my wife is a testament.

I was chuckling to myself yesterday as we walked through the boat show and I imagined all of these guys trying to figure out how to "sell" the idea of a new boat to their spouses. Had to share my humor.

Pearl,

That's a funny topic. You should give seminars on "asset management" to your fellow Ifishers. I'm trying to keep notes, but I'll never be as good as you.

Reminds me..many years ago when I was garage sailing with a new spouse, I was eyeing this KZ650 motorcyle with a price on it...and my spouse was eyeing this cute little lamp, likely worth about $10 (no price on either).

I suggested she buy the lamp, and she passed, but i knew she really liked it...therefore I went back the next day, and drove the bike, which he wanted $1200.00 for. I bought the bike for $1,000.00 and got them to throw the lamp in for free...

I told my wife the good news and bad news...I bought a great motorcycle for only $500, but unfortunately I had to pay $500 for the lamp, but since i knew she liked it so much i thought it was worth it.

There are essentials in life that one cannot do without. I remember going to one of the boat shows in about 1985 and told a couple friends that I was going to buy a boat we saw on display. So I did.

I may not be the smartest man at the show but I have learned that you only buy one without prior consent....

The perfect boat is hard to find and when you do, you have to take advantage of the timing. In contrast there are a lot of women looking for a good man.

Like I said, I only did it once.

Eric,

I thought that was you.

Both of our watersports seem to be shifting from sailing to fishing.

I'm currently trying to rebalance from fewer sailboats (currently 3 - Laser, Cal 20-at the boat show and actively for sale REDBULL and a Catalina 30) to more fishing boats (currently 2). Give me a call some time and we'll 'hook up.'
