Default Three rivers

Ok, I have never fished three rivers, heck I don't even know how to get there. I am thinking about heading over there tomorrow and doing a little steelheading but I have no Idea as to where to go. I hear everyone talking about the Hatchery, is there good bank fishing there? I don't mind a crowd as long as people are curtious and have some manners. Do any of you think it will be fishing thursday morning or would it be a waste of time

I fished three rivers in the AM and saw no fish caught. I never touched a fish nor did I talk to anyone who hooked any. The river looks great and tommorow may be a better day.

good luck

Shhhhh don't tell anyone,

Fridays the day, Maybe Saturday......

I'll be there tomorrow AM, gonna fish an hour or two on my way to work, oh yeah don't tell anyone that either....

Nestuccas droppin and rain is forcasted to let up a bit so the Mouth may be fishable by the weekend. Three rivers is fishable and does have fish around the hatchery. Say hi if you make it. I'll be in a red explorer around 10 30.

I was there most of the day yesturday and it was slow at best. I saw 4 fish landed <3 summers and 1 winter> saw about twice that hooked and lost. water looked good and the fish are in the system but they didnt want to play I guess. You can fish the Hatchery hole or the S curves down river a ways. If you can, stop in at Nestucca Valley Sporting goods in Hebo and they will set you in the right direction.

Three Rivers is between Grand Ronde and Hebo on Hwy 22. There is not a lot of access thats why you get the combat atmosphere. If your expecting manners and curtious behavior............don't go.

Fishplay is right. It is not the place to fish for the faint of heart. MOST people are nice enough but if you fish at the hatchery expect to get to know the folks next to you very well.

With that in mind, the hatchery is not the only place to fish. There is a fair amount of private ground off limits to the general public but don't be afraid to investigate the entire river below the hatchery. If your real nice to Ron down at the sporting goods store and buy some stuff I'll bet he'll even give you some good hints.

Don't fight the crowd. Go read Madwizzards "reading holding water" post. I think the tucker is still up enough for the plunking method to produce fish. Go build your own fire or join someone elses and tell fish tales.
