Default Chinook on

Well, I am not a new member. I have been lurking for quite some time. Learning as much as I can. I moved away from Oregon many years ago and have recently returned from the East Coast. Boy, did I miss Oregon. I have started fishing for Salmon and Steelhead again and I have found this site to be very informative. Since I must post a fishing story I will tell of my most recent adventure. Siletz river, Thanksgiving morning, my brother in-law takes me to the sweetest little honey-hole on the Siletz. I decided to try this "bobber fishing" thing for Chinook. Bobber-stop at 14', twenty lb test, 15 lb leader and Maries eggs, all learned here on Ifish. Next thing I know, bobber down! After 30 minutes and no net one 40 lb Chinook on the bank. I have a photo but I don't know how to get it posted. I can e-mail it, if someone else will post it.

Yeah, baby ... welcome back.

Ever wonder why Salmon guys carry nets to the river bank and most steelheaders do not?

I guess you know now. Thanks for the report.
