Default Tackle bag mug?

Sh! Don't tell! I'm stumped. Can you help?

Here is the problem: Bill takes a carry style to go mug down to the river with him, and it always spills.

He has several full size Thermos, but needs a "short trip" thermos, that only holds two cups or so.

He wants it short, not full size, and just slim. I asked. I have one of those...

Anyhow, anyone know of a totally sealable small cup like thermos? There are several that slide shut, but they always spill. It's not totally sealable.

I found this one:
CUP
Does that look good?

I know, I'm not supposed to post URLS, but I don't think this one will hurt. Will it? Mods, delete the url, if you think so. I'm big, and I can take it!

Jennie, I think the mug your looking at would be top heavy although being totally sealable wouldn't spill. I don't think it would travel well by auto either. You guys just walk to the river so that probably isn't an issue but it would be nice to have a mug that did both. Since I'm thinking about it your right, most if not all the mugs I see on the market are either very tall and tube shaped or huge like stanley or thermos. I'm not real keen on the beer stien shape of the one your looking at but it looks like it would certanly be durable enough. The fine workmanship may take a cosmetic hit when getting knocked over while fighting fish. I'm going to P_town today. I'll keep my eyes peeled at all the yuppie shops. edit: sorry, i did not take a good look at the options a, b, and c they look very cool and industrial with some uniqueness to them. The price is good too. You could maybe find one a little cheaper but I think it would have that stamped out look. You know , like the ones at starbulls

I use this one:
http://thedailymug.com/thernisdualp.html
It has a screw-on lid like a thermos but works like a mug. It also come with a spill proof lid that can be added once the screw-on lid is removed. I have been throwing it in my backpack when I bike to work everyday for the past 2 years. Works great. I've seen them as pricey as $30 retail but upon my recommendation a co-worker picked one up on eBay for $15. Good luck

Sciguy, You got a better mug than I. I had that mug and after a year it leaks like a sieve. I still use it but I don't count on the lid holding back coffee anymore. I just take the lid off and use while driving.

Thermos makesa mug just like the Nissan one shown. The only difference is that the Thermos has a much wider base and won't tip over in the boat etc. The nissan one will tip fairly easily. I have both types amd don't use the Nissan one any longer.

Went to the Seaside outlet mall yesterday, and the Eddie Bauer Store had a nice all stainless cup for $9.99. And the handle was a cross between a caribeener to stick on the back of the fishing vest on a d-ring in stead of taking up so much room in a pocket. Told my wife that I want one for Christmas.

There are lots of thermos style insulated cups out there, but they always have those plastic slide lids on top, that invariably leak after a while. Just try tipping them over. Uh huh. Sealable, huh? Not.

I think the cup of my tackle bag dreams must have a screw on thermos style lid.

Do the Eddie Bauer ones, or the others mentioned here, have those? I see a couple that do.

OK, I'll go look at Starbucks. Wish that they had them online. I'm beginning to get paranoid of shopping crowds.

Wow! I got a personal response back from the first one I looked at. I thought that was nice, and kind of unusual.

Greetings.

These items are just like thermoses...just smaller. The lids screw on, and the insulated design is certainly intended to keep the
contents hot for a reasonable time. However, be advised that these are more like single-serving containers. A fisherman out in the
elements might want to carry a larger container. Just a thought.

Wow,

That was personable.

Good customer service.

I've got two of these small, stainless thermos style containers. They are very sleek and hold, maybe a couple of cups of coffee. I got them at GI joes. They have a little cup that screws on the top and a push button in the middle of a screw on lid for pouring.

Very handy. But you still have to use the little cup or another cup (can't drink straight out of the container).

iwanttofish,
I sent you a private message on this board covering your request.

Jen,
what did you decide? I really like your link and am thinking of either A, or C. Maybe look into a smaller aladin style thermos too.

No Problemo...

Give a person a fish and they will eat for the day...

But teach that person to fish, and they will be able to eat everyday...

Starbucks has what your looking for as mentioned above. instead of a slide lid - they use a push button type thing that is air tight when pushed - so much so that you need to be careful not to fill it completely full w/ steaming water or you have to unscrew the lid to push the button in...
