Default Behold The Fisherman!

Behold the Fisherman (woman)
He (she) Riseth Up Early in the Morning,
and Disturbeth the Whole Household.
Mighty are His (Her) Preparations.
He (She) Goeth Forth Full of Hope.
And When the Day is Spent, He (She) Returneth,
Smelling of Strong Drink.
And the Truth is not with Him (Her)! ~ Unknown

The Bold Fishermen

Now Captain Jack was a fisherman bold
Who'd laugh in the teeth of a gale

"Boys", he'd brag, "I can fish my gear
In a blow that would sink a whale

No sitting on the beach for me in
Every little blow

Before those fish they die of old age
I'll slip my lines and go."

Well, Jack he slipped his lines one night
It was blowing and getting rough

He said to his crew as they crossed the bar
"It's OK boys, we're tough."

By morning it was blowing force nine
And he couln't live the day.

The price the sea exacts from a fool
Is a price few want to pay.

His hatchboards floated onto the beach
Three days after the storm

And the captain and crew went to Fiddler's Green
The ship, she went to the worm.

There's a moral to this story you can
Hear when the wind blows cold.

There's fishermen old
There's fishermen bold.
But there ain't no old, bold fishermen.

The fisherperson that rises early gets the coffee and bait first  If only they could get the first fish also.

The Saga of Leviathan (an excerpt)

He surfaced, he sounded, the flyrod rebounded,
The flyreel screamed out as if pained,
The incredible fight went three days and a night,
But ever so slowly I gained.

At the fourth morning's sun, he made his last run,
But I held him, and gave him no line,
Though blistered and bleeding, my hands began feeding
The line back; I knew he was mine!
