Default Ramp help

I need some help/advice,
I am interested in fishing the Columbia between the I-5 bridge and Kelly point, for sturgeon. I am wondering where the best place is to launce. My map shows a ramp off of Marine drive. Is this a good spot? Is it easy to find. If this is not a good spot, what would be a better choice?
Thanks in advance! WP

Fred's Marina would be a logical choice. Cathedral Park Marina would be a another, 5 miles to the Columbia R. but it's nice and free. These locations will take you by many popular Sturgeon spots as you go.
Some might consider the slightly more protected waters of the Willamette on the way to the Columbia R.

WP-
You must be looking at the Chinook boat launch off of Marine Drive?? The boat launches mentioned by Tilla would be better for Kelley Point. With that said the Chinook boat launch has some great sturgeon fishing close to it. I don't launch there often but I think they look for a set of power lines crossing the river and 60-70 of water.

There is a boat launch at about 42nd and marine drive it is a nice launch. It's also the home of Multnomah county sheriffs river patrol it is right on marine drive very easy to see and access. Chinook landing boat launch is east of there about 5 miles.

WP -

I launched there for the first time (42nd street) and ran down as far as Kelly Point for the Sturgeon Challenge. It is a pretty fer piece to do that. Took about 25 minutes to run back from T-6 with the 200 HP jet.

Like others have written, Fred's Marina (just at the top of Multnomah Channel) or Cathedral Park are closer and less subject to the elements. I probably won't do the 42 thing again to fish down that far, but the are spots close to the launch there to try too...

Thanks all for the help. Now I have a number of options I seek to learn the Columbia fisheries and develop my knowledge of the Portland area options.
Thanks to each of you! WP
