Default Super chocolate / rootbeer eggs yah...

I was speaking with a friend today about trying some different cures for eggs and shrimp. When another friend piped up and asked if I'd heard anything about adding sweet flavor scents to egg curing techniques like rootbeer or chocolate. He said it was started in alaska, but he's sure some guides are using it in the northern rivers of oregon also. Says it's supposed to be killer for chinook. I laughed, I thought he was pulling my leg. But he was serious. Has anyone else heard of this. Is there a killer secret egg cure? Thanks Big

Someone is always going to create some cochameme (sp?) scheme to entice fish.

If the stuff works, or out beats another scent let me know and I'll market it.

I'll even put "World Famous" on it to help the marketing scheme. Nothing like being self proclaimed.

I know for a fact, my next door neighbor put Hershey's chocolate syrup in with his eggs this fall and caught salmon on it. This is not a fish story, it's true. The new egg curing book does mention this. Phil from ProCure mentions this in the book.

I'm not sure though if I will try it in the near future. I did blend up some carrots and...... well, never mind.

Ranch dressing....oh, wait, that's in my scrambled eggs.

Hey Dave, nice pic. I might need to reconsider what guides I fish with - never had one offer up a gourmet menu like that while out on the water.

Next time you see Bud Wollender [Bud's Fishing Adventures] you might offer up a suggestion to him.

Well brown sugar cures were pretty popular. And sugar is sweet. So who knows. I'v heard of some weird cures. If the fished are not biting why not try it.
