To all,
The gauntlet has been thrown down by
Ifisher "Fishing Is Life". I took him out
to McNary tonight and he had a once in a
lifetime night. I won't give out the
details but will give you the basics. 16
fish on, 14 landed. James Wu is spoiled
now. Another one comes over to the dark
side. Ok, I gotta tell you. He started out
with a fish on in the first 15 minutes but
it comes unpinned. His next fish is a
37 3/4 inch Hatchery hen. He and I then
hook 10 wild fish along with the second
double of the season. He then lands a 30
inch hatchery hen. So he is done with
steelhead until midnight, but he can angle
for salmon since it is open. Finally I hook
a hatchery fish and James is about to net
it when he ***** off and says "he has never
knocked a fish off before". Well you know
what happened next. See ya fish! Midnight
rolls around and James hooks another wild
fish. That makes 11 natives released!
Things slowed down and I thought our night
was gonna be over. At 0230, James rod goes
off again and I swear he has hooked a
speedboat. This fish was serious! It comes
by the boat and I darn near shiat myself
when I saw how big it was. I have seen a
lot of Steelhead in my day but this fish
shocked me. I finally got the net under it
and I had trouble bringing it onboard. I
layed it on the measuring ruler and butted
the nose against the bent part of the ruler
and squenched the tail together to get a
accurate length and that baby taped out at
41 inches! I say again, 41 inches! It was
the biggest Hatchery fish I have ever seen.
We taped the girth and it was a shade over
20 inches! Holy cow! James had his digital
camera and he will be down loading the
pictures in the next day or so. I have web
tv and cannot download the pictures for
him. I do mine at work. So be patient!
