"steelhead challenge" (final) rules
The "steelhead challenge" rules
After all the e-mails i am changing the rules(FOR THE LAST TIME).No more e-mails, as i will not change them again.I hope everyone can fish now.
Some rivers have bigger fish than others so this is how we will keep track.
This will be a 2 day event saturday January 11th and sunday the 12th.You can fish either day or both but only use one days catch to get your score. The best of the 2 days.
1) Total "number" of ( steelhead ) taken or released divided by the number of fishers on your team, to get your average per person. Bring a pen and keep it honest. Just keep track of the number of fish caught. Its all in good fun anyway.
2) 2 to 6 person teams, sled, drifter or bank. All teams must have a caption to take all of the responsibility and baton for his/her team.
I want to keep at least 2 I-fishers on a team so that you have to get to know other i-fishers.
I do understand if you live someplace where you cant find others to fish with, if this is you then you can be solo, but try and find an I-fish partner for the day.
3) The boat/bank caption gets the baton for there crew. In the event of a tie, one "just one"(24hour) poll will decide the baton holder.
4) The winning boat/bank caption gets the steelhead challenge trophy (I will even
buy it) . In the event of a tie, one "just one"(24hour) poll will decide the trophy holder.
5) You can fish any river those 2 days that you want in oregon or Washington, but must post results and pictures that by Sunday the 12th by 9:00p.m. to qualify.
6) All fishing must be legal and held to the highest standards. we are representing i-fish so keep it clean. When your tag is punched your done.
7) we can have a get together the next Friday night to award the prizes.
8) All fishers, please try to fish with other
I-fishers.
Good luck and have fun.

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
One clarification please. Do you want a picture of each fish posted or just a representative? I need to know if I should buy another memory stick for the camera.

I think one picture will be plenty, maybe an end of day picture. If you want more thats cool, but I don't want everyone posting 10 pictures. I think it would be to much for the server to handle. I will talk anyone's word on fish released.

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
It would be nice if those with digital cameras would offer the digital camera challenged the opportunity for a picture of proof. Maybe a few locations and times would help. A boat to boat picture would be even cooler!

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
Now let me get this straight. Are we trying to catch fish or not. On the sturgeon challenge I cheated and didn't use a hook  ! Then the ugly green bluefin catcher steals MY baton. Oh well the feathers are tough to pass

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
I hate to drag this out, but do fish caught in Idaho count? I'm planning on fishing the Clearwater, with at least 3 other ifishers that weekend, and really want to be able to compete.

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
Wiz,
With regard to rule no. 1, please define "fishers" are these people that actually can catch a fish or do bow boys and seat ballast people count?

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
Fiahbait,
the rules clearly state that there are no rules AGAINST rods in the water for seat cushions or dogs. My boat will look like a pincushion. Which is fine by me, since the last fish I caught was during the Carter administration.

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
Just got back from catching TEXAS bass and crappie. Really great fish fry. Great to be home again, and will be back on the water in a couple days after chores. Is this "Steelhead Challenge" the same as the flotilla last year?? We sure had a fun day, and it was fun at the dinner to meet everyone, and put faces together. I see alot of new names this year.
Count "Jimmy" in for the fun.
Water sure looks good......
Do we need prizes for the dinner??

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
JPSFISHY
This is not the floatilla of last year. On this challenge you can fish were ever you want.
We do not need prizes for the dinner, as I will be bringing the baton to award to the "steelhead cracker" of the challenge.
I have got a bunch of e-mails about putting a floatilla together, just haven't got that far yet.
Maybe February.

More South Staters jumping into the fray!!
Captain Clown Corkie and Straydog will be teaming up with one person yet to be named and we look forward to the fun! We'll be puttin' the hurts to the jaws of some fresh Rogue fish under the name of Clown Dogs!
We cordially invite any and all So. Coasters to email or post for some possible hook ups and fun.
Keta? Rraider? Grantspastor?
Let's cross some eyes!!

Re: "steelhead challenge" (final) rules
Straydog! I'd love to join you guys for the Steelhead fishing challenge, but my #2 son-in-law is coming from L.A. with my #2 daughter, and the ONE thing he wants to do while he's here that weekend is catch steelhead...therefore Finreaper and I are committed to him (You know how it is with family) Maybe we can hook up together sometime down the Rogue.. er ..road?
