Default Jumpin\' Geeehosefat!!!!!

Thought I'd make a short run down the Nestucca today--everything looked good at 7 am. By 8, it was thunder, lightning , and 40 mph gusts. There were literally 2-3 foot whitecaps  splashing over my transom. I'm a pretty stout boy, but it was all I could do to row through the slackwater from above the bridge to Cloverdale. My anchor slipped in the cleat a little (need a new rope)--and in the five seconds it took me to pull it back, I'll bet I drifted 10 yards back upstream. when I finished the "drift", there was a good 6 inches of water in my boat from rain and waves. I did catch one 7# native hen.
Anybody else stupid...er, daring enough to get out today?

Wildhawg.......

the wind came back to the central CR today as well...... better that, than the fog and freezing rain/snow we've had over the last couple of weeks.....

Rain and wind are good...... freezin' rain, slick roads, bad.....

I've lived in the gorge for 7 years, and this is the first time my sunglasses haven't been on my face for two Full Weeks..... Not good.....

Tim.....
