Default 2003 Honda BF15D Long Shaft Barely Used

Long Shaft, pull start with cord for charging battery. Includes a tank if needed.

This was the backup engine on a boat I have since sold. Been sitting in the garage unused. I started it before each trip for backup purposes, but it was never used under load. It was in salt, but was washed and flushed after every use. It has a small rub area on the front and a couple of small scratches on the back from being moved on and off the boat (I pulled it after each trip and put the boat in storage). Asking $1900 obo. Located in Beaverton, OR.

I'm looking for a newer model 4 strok honda kicker like this for my 17' alumaweld centerconsole inboard / jet. Do you think this motor would be too much for slow trolling speeds on a small boat like mine? I don't wanna have to mess with trolling plates.

I don't think this would be too much for your 17 ft boat. There is around 10 lbs difference between this and a 9.9 and the motor seems to troll down nicely. The plus is, if something ever happens to your main engine, you could make it at a decent pace with a 15 hp...
