Default Abu-garcia reel question...

I got a levelwind reel in the mail today from an online purchase a week ago. I'm not quite sure what it is, but the price was right.

It looks like and Ambassaduer 5500, but it says AXXAR 500 in green letters on the side and Ambassaduer 500 on the other side. Right next to "Ambassaduer" it says high speed...and that's no joke..this thing has a very fast retreive. It also has two sets of numbers on the bottom. "04" on the left and "0005" on the right.

I thought that AXXAR was a line of spinning reels, but this is a levelwind, and I've never seen one of these before. Anyone have any information on these ?

I'll say one thing for you Wootersen, you do carefully research your purchases.

If I had to guess, with the 'high speed' retrieve, it may be similar to the C4 series with higher gear ratio.

So Thumper, how do you really feel...?

I can waist a lot of time drooling over the fishing reels on ebay, but I worry about the source.

People sell counterfeit watches, so why not counterfeit fishing reels?
